The Catawba Indian Nation is the only federally recognized Indian tribe in the state of South Carolina. The tribe's reservation is located in York County, a bedroom community for the booming Charlotte, NC area. The reservation is adjacent to the beautiful Catawba River. The Catawba are proud of their past, and they continue to make pottery, sing, dance, drum, and share their heritage and culture. A variety of programs for visitors are offered at the Cultural Center.
